So I've been a huge Nathan Fillion fan since I saw him in Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place, and of course I loved him in Firefly and Serenity, and the ill fated Drive. How cute and adorable is he in Castle! He is so funny and charming he makes me melt into a big pool of fangirly squee. LOL! Oh to be the lucky Det. Beckett.

John groaned and opened his eyes. "Easy there Colonel," Doctor Keller said. "You've had a bit of an accident"

Grunting with the effort of trying to sit up he looked up at the Doc, "The last thing I remember was talking with Rodney in his lab."

Jennifer smiled at him, "So you don't remember the small explosion then.." "I guessed you hit your head pretty hard, I'll have to keep you here a couple of days to make sure you're okay."

John rubbed his eyes with his palms "Wait, what explosion?"

"Apparently one of the scientists was working on some piece of Ancient technology and he accidentally overloaded it or something, and set off an explosion."

"Oh, huh." "Why does my stomach hurt so much then if I just hit my head?" John asked as he grabbed his side with his hand.


"JOHN, Your awake." Rodney practically screamed. "I was afraid you were going to be terribly hurt." "You should have seen how big that jagged piece of metal sticking out of your side was. It was huge." Rodney gestured with his hands to make sure John understood.

John looked over at the Doc who was doing her best to hide a smirk. "Don't worry Colonel, I safely removed it and patched you back up. You should be fine to return to Light duty in a couple of days."

"Rodney,"

"Yes John,"

"Remind me not to come to your lab for a while. I think I've had all the excitement I can handle for a while."

Rodney looked at John confused. "Um, Okay, but I don't really think it's necessary." "It's completely safe in my lab."

John just glared at Rodney and rolled over.

"I give up" John said as the painkillers the Doc gave him took effect and he drifted off to sleep.

If it was the last thing Jayne did in this verse, it would be to kill that gorram fancy doc. Jayne had been angry at the Fed that shot Kaylee, which surprised him a little, since he thought he had finally convinced himself he was not in love with the bubbly mechanic. But Zoe had stopped him from dealing with the Fed. That ching-wah tsao duh liou mahng would get what was coming to him, Jayne was sure of that. But the anger he felt at the Fed was nothing compared to the fury he felt at that hwoon dahn of a doc when the doc said that he wouldn't help Kaylee unless Mal would help him run from the ruttin Alliance. Jayne looked down at the kind-hearted mechanic. He had been shot plenty of times to know that a belly wound left untreated would be the death
of his favorite mechanic. "Hmm," Jayne thought to himself, "I like the sound of that. My mechanic." If Mal didn't agree to help the doc, Jayne would just have to kill Mal too. But it wouldn't come to that, cause he knew Mal felt the same way bout Little Kaylee. Well more like a little sister, but it amounted to the same thing.

So Mal gave the order to Zoe to change course and run from the Alliance cruiser. And so it fell that the gorram doc saved Little Kaylee's life. But Jayne stored it in the back of his head that one day that huh choo-shang tza-jiao duh tzang-huo would meet Vera, and when that happened, well, Jayne knew the doc wouldn't be walking away from it.

"What are you smiling about?" Mal asked Jayne. "I don't reckon I was smilin bout anything Capn."
